The VESPA Project: Virtual Reality Interventions for Neurocognitive and Developmental Disorders

VESPA is a financed project supported by the Sicilian Regional Research and Development funds, it structured development, research validation of Virtual Reality (VR) based application for diagnosis treatment neurocognitive conditions. In particular, this article presents its characteristics, referred to as first (2013-2015) second (2021-ongoing) generations VESPA, with particular reference literature regarding VR technology conditions prior versions intervention. Through comprehensive review conducted over last 5 years, evidence has emerged supporting VESPA’s aim scopes, highlighting how can be considered add value typical rehabilitation/therapeutic paths. are then presented in detail, including specific session/task battery 2.5D, 3D 5D typologies, system usability architecture pathological domain-based dynamics features. The discussion about will highlight current advantages along limitations future directions.
